Party - A group of individuals that share bills, debts, payments, etc.
Individual - A single person, who is a member of a party. This person can make payments to other individuals in the party for debts owed. This person can also make transactions with third parties and share the responsibilities of the transaction with other individuals in the party.
Transaction - An individual can record a transaction with a third party. Each member of the party is assigned responsibility for some portion of the transaction (though this can be zero).
Payments - A payment is a transaction between individuals in a party. Payments occur when on individual directly gives money to another member in order to settle all or some debt owed.
Responsibility - Each individual is assigned some portion of each transaction, reflecting the amount that person should owe the individual who covered the transaction.
Standing - This is a summary of each person's position. Some individuals may owe money, some individuals may be owed money. The sum for any party at any time will be zero. DivItUp does not specify who owes who. Debts are completely transferable within a party. Thus, there are any number of ways for a party to settle its debts.
